Back where we started. In addition to a trip hop cue, I was asked to provide some Hendrix-like music for a psychedelic freakout scene in the same short film that inspired the title track. Oscar and I got to it right away. We both guessed the director wanted something in the style of Purple Haze, so being the contrarians we are, we created something that was more inspired by Noel Redding's bass from Hey Joe. After much time, I went back and undid some of the Hendrixisms and created a new structure. I then laid over anti-drug propaganda from the 1960s to tie in with the explicitly pro-drug opening song, Catch-Up Mechanics. I tagged that with a call back to the bridge of This Path Sucks by using an early outtake from a writing session.
